| Malaria, Tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS account for millions of deaths every year. Africa is plagued with the highest rate of HIV infection in the world and it is taking the lives of an entire generation. This year at least two million Africans, most of them young children, will die of AIDS. More than 1 million people die each year from malaria, and 90% of these deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa. |

The current research being done in Africa has the potential to make a huge difference. In a humanitarian effort to support these African scientists, Tree Star has developed FlowJo Africa. FlowJo Africa encourages the current efforts by offering free licenses of FlowJo to anyone conducting research within the African continent. |

FlowJo is free for all researchers in the entire African continent. It is our company's way of helping in the research against AIDS, TB, malaria, and other devastating diseases. The FlowJo Africa program provides free serial number licenses for as many workstations as you need. Each license is dedicated to one hardware address. You could, if you wish, purchase a dongle for the lab to use (US$2495).
We currently have two FlowJo application scientists in Europe who travel to Africa occasionally for training, Claudio Vallan and Helene Dujardin. You can contact them at claudio@treestar.com or helene@treestar.com
Claudio Vallen, European/African Applications Scientist, recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit SEREFO HIV Research in Bamako, Mali. Here are some images taken while on that trip.
Please send me the African Request form, completed on institution letterhead, and I will send you serial number licenses.
If you are doing research in Africa and your institution is interested in a FlowJo seminar, please contact Susan Alderson for detailed information.
