Find Your PCs Hardware Address
Are you using a Macintosh computer? Those instructions are here.
1. What is it?
2. How do I find it using FlowJo?
3. How do I find it manually?
1. What is a Hardware address?
Every networked hardware device - such as a PC network interface card (NIC), a Cable Modem or even a router - has a hardware address. (Also known, somewhat confusingly as a MAC [Media Access Control] address.) Each hardware address is unique, which makes it a perfect candidate for the "fingerprint" of a computer.
2. How do I find my hardware address in FlowJo?
FlowJo preferences panel displays the hardware address as shown here:
To get to the preferences panel, run FlowJo, click Edit menu, click Preferences.

3. How do I find my hardware address (Windows 2000/XP)
Click 'Start', then 'Run'
In the resulting dialogue box, type 'cmd' and then press <enter>
This brings up a black text window.
In the command prompt window you have just opened, type ipconfig /all
This command will usually give you a large amount of information, including the MAC address of the network card of the machine you're on.
A sample output from this command could be:

The address we are interested in is the hardware address of the NIC [Network Inferface Card], in this case highlighted in blue and labelled Physical Address above: 00-C0-4F-68-89-06
Please note the address will contain both numbers and letters.
To obtain a serial number that activates your FlowJo trial, please Go Here.
thank you!
