| Application Modes.
FlowJo always runs in a fully functional mode. However,
in Demonstration mode, you may only input data files that are Demonstration
FCS files provided by Tree Star, Inc. There are a variety of demonstration
data files that you can use to explore the various capabilities
of FlowJo. Demonstration mode can be used on any PowerPC computer.
In order to use FlowJo to analyze your own data
files, you must obtain a user license. A free 60-day user license
can be obtained from Tree Star, Inc., allowing you to evaluate FlowJo
in an unrestricted fashion. User licenses can take the form of either
a serial number (specific to a single computer), a single machine
dongle, or a given out by a Network Keyserver.
If your site has purchased user licenses in the
form of a Network Keyserver, then FlowJo can look for that server
machine (to which a Network Dongle is attached). If it finds it,
then it can get a user license and execute.
For the kind of Macintosh you are currently running,
you will not be able to use a serial number to run FlowJo. Your
only options are to use a single machine dongle, access a network
dongle via AppleTalk, or to run in Demonstration Mode. FlowJo has
already determined that there is no single-machine dongle attached
to this computer. (If you have a single-machine dongle attached,
then either it is not properly connected, or you have not rebooted
after connecting it).
At the current time, you can either instruct FlowJo
to search for a Network Keyserver (this can take a few minutes),
or to run in Demonstration mode.
