You may only have one compensation matrix with a given name belonging to any workspace. You have been notified that you tried to create or load a compensation matrix with the same name as another matrix that already belongs to this workspace.

If you manually edited a compensation matrix and are now trying to load it into the workspace, you probably forgot to change the title of the matrix (the first line of the matrix file). Remember that FlowJo assigns matrix names based on the title in the file, not the file name. (When FlowJo creates a matrix for you, it automatically sets the title to be the same as the filename).

If you still want to load this compensation matrix, you will have to change the title name. See the page about modifying the compensation matrix manually. Do not change anything else in the matrix file!
