Installation from the Web though Webstart
Webstart is a part of Java technology which allows us to deploy software patches in small chunks, rather than a brand new 50MB installer. Everytime you launch this application through webstart it will check for updates, download them, and execute the updated code. This significantly reduces internet traffic and speeds up your experience.
Webstart isn't for everyone:
- You cannot use webstart on the same computer as DiVa software
- You have to be online to use webstart.
First you'll need to download and install Java 1.5. This is an easy process and happens through your web browser. Click on this link and follow the instructions on that page:
Once in place, click on the link below. You can select between FlowJo "regular" and FlowJo for computers with lots of memory.
FlowJo Webstart Link
Choosing either the regular or the high memory link will begin downloading the FlowJo files to your computer (roughly 20MB)

Once completed, the process will ask your permission to run our certificate on your computer:

Check "Always.." and click Run. Next, FlowJo will ask you about shortcuts:
Finally, the installer will make this shortcut on your Desktop:
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY DELETE THE SHORTCUT
All is not lost. Click Start menu, Run, type in "javaws", click OK. This brings up the webstart console:

Which will enable you to execute FlowJo.
Thank you and enjoy :)
