The Column Defintion window allows you to add new columns, define the attributes and set the values for, and apply, special formatting to columns. It looks similar to the Column Information Window |

- Define a Column Heading. This heading will show up in the Name column of the Table Editor. Rows in the Table Editor become columns after the table has been generated.
- Define a Column Type. Choose from three options:
- Statistic (shown at right): All statistics available in the Graph Window and Workspace are also available to be placed into columns.
- Keyword: All keywords associated with your .fcs files are available. For more on keywords, go here.

Formula: Insert a Reference value (another column heading) and then insert a function. Ratios of once column heading to another are often used. e.g. MFIpos ÷ MFIneg
- Choose whether or not to display your column values in Heat Map form, and/or to hide the values associated with the column.
- Apply Special Formatting. If desired you may choose values or value ranges of statistics or keywords and and change their font characteristics to make easily recognized.
- When your column has the heading, type and formatting you like, click OK to return to the Table Editor.
