To manually enter a gate, first display the graph on which you wish to enter a gate (for instance, to manually type in a lymphocyte gate, forward vs. side scatter might be displayed; a histogram or CDF is entered as a one-dimensional gate). From the Graph menu, select Manually Enter Gate. The following window will be presented, where the lower and upper limits of the gate for each axis are entered.
