The Text tool will adding additional text to your layout (notation, plot descriptions, etc.). Select this tool then click and drag anywhere in your layout to draw a text box. You will be presented with the Text Tools Properties dialog, where you can edit the content.
The text tool supports FJML, FlowJo's markup language to mix data information with boilerplate text.
Customizing the text box is done through the Properties dialogue.
Obtain the Properties dialogue by:
- Right clicking on the text box and selecting Properties.
- Double clicking on the text box.
- Selecting the text box, then choosing Properties from the Object menu.

- Type your text in the upper region.
- You can Insert Keywords from the drop down menu. Making changes to the text inside the < and /> is not advised.
- You can modify the Sample for which the text is applied.
- Adjust the Font, Size, Justification, and Style for the text through the associated drop down menus.
- The properties of the text box itself can be modified by changing the Fill Color, Line Color, Line Weight and Style.
- When ready to see your changes, click on Apply or OK.
Right Click Options
Right clicking on the rectangle will give you the options to:
- Copy the rectangle
- Paste the rectangle
- Duplicate the rectangle. This can also be acheived by Option-drag.
- Order the rectangle. This is useful when overlaying objects.
Other Common Options
To resize it, click on one of the dark handles at the corners of the text box. There is also a check box in the properties dialog to determine whether the text box should change its size to fit the text, or maintain a fixed size, and truncate the text.
To move it, mouse over the lines the text box and when a four way arrow appears, click and drag.
