Heat maps display tabular data using color gradation. Heat maps are helpful for spotting trends and making a quick determination of high and low value statistics. Heat mapping is available as a feature of the Table Editor.

Heat maps can be applied to single columns, or to all columns. Bright yellow represents cells of high value, bright blue represents cells of low value.

To apply heat mapping to a single column:

  1. Select a row in the table editor and click on the Column Information icon in the table editor.

  2. Define the column heading and column type.

  3. Click on the Heat Map checkbox to turn heat mapping on. You may also choose to hide the column values and display just the color gradation of the heat map by clicking on the Hide Values checkbox (shown in example).

  4. Click OK when you are done to return to the Table Editor.

To apply heat mapping to all columns:

  1. Set up your table in the Table Editor and when you are ready to generate your table, click on the Generate Table button.

  2. Under the Output Options, click on the Show As Heat Maps checkbox.

  3. Generate the table to show all column cells in heat map form.
