Installing Dongles

A dongle is a small electronic device that is attached to your computer. When it is attached, FlowJo will be able to run on that computer.

Version 7 and 8 dongles, called thumbdrives, are Plug-and-Play. Insert the dongle into a USB port and open FlowJo. No drivers to install. You can see this dongle as a storage drive in the File Manager. It has a license key file in it ("license.key"). The dongle will not work without a license key. You cannot copy the key to create another thumbdrive.

Although FlowJo Version 7/8 uses a different USB dongle than Version 5/6, you can upgrade your V5/6 dongle to V7/8 if you prefer. If you wish to keep your V6 Dongle click here to upgrade it.
